Editorial mission

Our goal is to help international visitors prepare for travel to China with practical, source-linked and clearly qualified information. We separate editorial guidance from production policy data and never present our assessment as an official decision.

Source hierarchy

Chinese government departments and competent authorities.
Chinese embassies and consulates.
Relevant official public-service platforms.
Official transport and public-service operators.
Reliable first-party service documentation.
High-quality secondary sources for background only.

Official sources are preferred for policy facts. A source link is evidence to review, not a guarantee that a page remains current.

Policy-sensitive content

Policy-sensitive claims are checked against recorded official sources and carry a review date where relevant. No official source means no production policy change. Ambiguous information remains marked for manual verification.

Review dates

Last-verified dates describe when an item was checked against its recorded source. They are not a promise that the underlying policy has not changed since that date.

Corrections

Report an error through the Contact page. We investigate reports, correct confirmed errors and may add an update note for important changes. We do not silently hide a material correction.

AI-assisted workflows

AI may help with organising, classifying, translating, drafting or technical processing. AI output is not an official source, cannot change policy facts or publication status, and must be schema- and semantics-validated before any controlled import. Policy-sensitive information is checked against its recorded source.

Human review

Human review is required for production policy changes and important editorial decisions. Automated suggestions, confidence scores and imported drafts are not public relationships or final policy truth until the documented review lifecycle is complete.

Author and reviewer identities

We do not invent author identities, professional qualifications, residence history or first-hand experience. Where a byline or reviewer identity is not available, we state that limitation rather than implying expertise.

Commercial independence

Commercial relationships and affiliate links, where used, must not influence policy judgments, eligibility results or the prominence of corrections. Any material relationship should be disclosed in the relevant content.

Updating content

We update content when official sources, service conditions or material errors change. Published policy changes remain versioned; old versions are retired rather than overwritten.
